The name AYA comes from the Chinese phrase '哎呀' [āiyā] - an exclamation that is generally followed by a confession about having forgotten something.

This is a confession that I commonly make whenever I leave home, usually about forgetting to bring a hair accessory to keep my hair out of my face. So I wanted something that I would be hard put to forget and that I would actually want to accesorise with. What better than a hair claw that is just permanantly clipped to my essentials? But I didn't want anything that looked too 'hair clip-y' either...

So the AYA Cloud was born!
