The name AYA comes from the Chinese phrase '哎呀' [āiyā] - an exclamation that is generally followed by a confession about having forgotten something.

This is a confession that I commonly make whenever I leave home, usually about forgetting to bring a hair accessory to keep my hair out of my face. I wanted something that I would be hard put to forget and I would actually want to accesorise with. What better than a hair claw that doesn't look like a hair clip that can be permanantly clipped to my essentials?

And so the AYA Cloud was born!
